Fourth-year anthropology student at the University of Colorado Boulder with experience in archaeology, and an emphasis on cultural anthropology. After graduation, intend to pursue a graduate degree in cultural anthropology or a Juris Doctorate degree.


 Undergraduate Honors Thesis Researcher, University of Colorado Boulder

May 2018 – Present, expected defense November 2019

Conducting independent, original research for undergraduate honors thesis. Thesis will be completed in November 2019. Investigating migrant worker perceptions of public health from an anthropological perspective. Gained experience with IRB application and approval, National Institute of Health Certificate of Confidentiality application and approval, and procedures to ensure safety of subjects at risk of deportation. Created original ethnographic qualitative study design, and merged this data with previously collected quantitative data. Experience with hybrid research.

Summer Intern, Material Culture, Philadelphia, PA

May 2018 – August 2018

Worked as a summer intern in the auction department of Material Culture. Gained insight into the business side of artifact and collection processing. In charge of creating a system for identifying archived object locations. Assisted in auction exhibition preparation. During live auctions, spoke with phone bidders, narrating the auction, and placing bids. Applied knowledge about lithics to the identification and description of a Clovis era blade in the most recent auction. Became proficient in FileMaker Pro.

Private Tutor, Boulder, CO

August 2018-Present

Tutor a high school junior with significant learning disabilities in writing and history. Learned flexibility and patience to best accommodate student. Has greatly improved my interpersonal and professional communication skills when helping student or communicating with parents, teachers, and special education case managers.

Archaeology Lab Technician, University of Colorado Boulder

August 2017 – September 2018

Volunteer as a lab technician for the Department Chair Dr. Doug Bamforth.  Currently working on processing a collection from a Late Woodland period farming settlement on the Great Plains.  Work includes cataloging, organizing the collection, pottery re-assembly, digitizing catalogs, and researching techniques for processing the collection. In collaboration with another technician, have taken initiative to digitalize the handwritten collection catalogs, enabling better identification of artifacts that are damaged or do not have catalog numbers. Advocated for then set up FileMaker Pro database to allow for easier digitized data organization and processing.  Learned attention to detail, taking initiative and the value of time consuming tasks.

July 2015 – August 2017

Hired at a time of high staff turnover, and was the youngest employee ever hired. Having learned quickly, and continued my employment for multiple summers, became a proficient and trusted employee. In addition, learned time management, multi-tasking, and customer service in a fast-paced environment.



 Spanish:  Fluent listener and proficient speaker.  Attended dual language elementary school growing up in a primarily Spanish-speaking neighborhood. Learned it informally in a cultural context living in Panama for two weeks in 2014 through an exchange program.

French: Fluent listener, speaker, and writer.  Immersed in accelerated high school French classes.  Received college credit for language having scored a five on the International Baccalaureate French exam.
